In my opinion that was a better and more reliable engine. Plus I want an updated 990 super enduro with a V twin!

V twin as in the 1290 makes a lot more sense and offers
differentiation, and a better riding experience. Wrong direction KTM,
it’s just one more of many.

No thanks KTM..

Then there’s the elephant in the room: The massive camshaft failures on the first and second generation 790/890 LC8c engines

KTM are in denial, dealerships are too scared to talk about it and, one only has to visit the Facebook KTM 7/890 Adv/Duke and Norden groups to see this is not a few isolated cases

We read of so many prospective 7/890 Adv and Norden owners flocking to buy Yamaha T7s and many selling their once cherished, but no longer trusted 7/890 Adv and Norden 901s off before they end up with thousands of Euros in repair costs – because according to KTM, “it’s not the bike’s fault”

Since it’s the same parallel twin design I wonder if they figured out why a staggering number of 790/890 cams are eating themselves and the followers.

When the first 790 was presented, everybody was happy there is finally a bike in the medium size, 700..800 class. Now we are approaching again the liter class.
