I’d say this route is enjoyable year-round on account of it being along California’s Coast. A few of the higher altitude sections North of Crescent City may be impassable in Winter months, but everything south of there should be enjoyable any time of year. If I had to choose a specific month, I’d aim for late May/Early June.

If you can muster the strength, I’d definitely recommend this part of the country for a few days of riding – even if they’re spent entirely on pavement. You won’t regret it!
